Halloween

This year for Halloween I worked. I always work because all of the girlies that have kids want it off so us non-children girls get to be there. So we make the best out of the day by pretty much eating that whole day. We decided to dress up as "busy bees" with our manager being our queen bee. Aren't we clever? :) It was a good day.

I love all of our Halloween festivities we do every year. We always make yummy sugar cookies and decorate them. And Brinker always is very interested.

And of course carve our JACK-O-LANTERNS...

Cakes I have made recently

CAKE ANYONE?

This cake above was made for my friend Heather's little boy Chips 2nd birthday. I was very happy with how it turned out. She picked out the colors so I tried to match it the best I could to her other decorations. Anyways I thought it turned out super cute! I was surprised how good the bow on top turned out since it was the first that I have ever made.
This sweet little cupcake was made for a little ladies first birthday. I wish I would have been there to see her darling little hands dig into it.

This cake was made for my friend Laurens Baby shower.

I have loved learning different things about making cakes these last few months. It has become quite the hobby! I honestly look forward to baking anything and am constantly looking for an excuse to make a cake. I think I am starting to get some pretty good muscles from making my fondant and rolling it out. Sometimes it takes forever to get it just the right color. But I LOVE it... I have always wanted to start making decorative cakes, but finally I am doing something about it. I have so many cakes I want to make still so look for more to come! Actually maybe I will start a new blog so I don't have to bore everyone with my new found love :)

Camping Trip- Mirror Lake

The word that best describes camping this year was COLD. We seriously froze the whole time we were up at Mirror Lake. When we first got to our camping spot there was snow on the ground. Our camping spot was beautiful cause we were right next to the lake but it was almost to cold to enjoy! We all had as many layers on that we could possibly fit. So if we look a little fat that is why.

Even though it was freezing Chris still got plenty of fly fishing done with my Dad. And we still found time to take our raft out onto the lake. We had to be Very careful to make sure that no water got into the raft. Cause I didn't want my thermals to get wet!

This was the second night. We were out making dinner. We spent the day outside for the most part but after dinner we played cards in the heated trailer. And drank hot chocolate. We had all of my favorite camping food. We cooked in the dutch oven both nights.

It was a very fun trip... But I think we were all ready to go home. Who would have thought that camping in Aug. would be so cold!

shakespearean festival

Our annual Shakespearean Festival trip was so fun this year... I look forward to this Johns Family tradition every year. It is fun to get to spend time with" just family". This year we got to see The Comedy of Errors, As you Like it, and Henry V. By far I thought that Comedy of Errors was the best this year. This picture above is our seats for the plays... It is the same row, same seats for every play, same time every year. Papa Johns does not mess around with getting our tickets. He gets our tickets over a year in advance to make sure that we have the right seats...
Here is my cute brother... He came with us this year for the plays. It was a lot of fun to have him out there with us.
This Year The Johns rented a cabin in Brianhead. It was very pretty out there. The temperature was perfect out there. Chris, Ben, and Charity's boyfriend Chris went mountain biking during the days while the rest of us just relaxed and took walks around the area. One of the days My brother Aaron, Charity, and I went shopping down in St. George. I found lots of cute stuff! The cabin that we stayed at was super cute. We had plenty of space to fit all of us.

The only problem that we had with the cabin was down in mine and Chris's room(and only in that 1 room) there was about a million crickets. The first night we slept down there I saw a few. The next day while I was down there getting ready I saw way to many. And they were HUGE. Then just to top it all off I started seeing a few spiders. Not OK... So we moved up to the bunk beds in the loft. Which was fine with me. As long as those stupid bugs weren't near me.

the 24th of July

This picture cracks me up... Chris is in completely and utterly pleased with himself laying on the grass in the REAL salt lake stadium... By the looks of this picture I think he has been dreaming of this moment for a long time :)

For the 24th of July there was a REAL game. I always love going to this game cause of the fireworks... Sitting in the warm air with the love of my life watching fireworks. Can't get much better than this. That's all... Life is good...

Raptors Game

My Aunt Becky and Uncle Jack had tickets to a Raptors game. They weren't able to make it to it so they offered us the tickets. Who would say no to free fun? So after we both got off work we made it to the game just a bit after it had started. While walking in I saw that they had dip n dots! My favorite. So first thing, before we got in our seats I had a nice big bowl of banana split goodness. We found our seats. Smashed in with some very interesting people. They were EXTREMELY into baseball. The older couple next to us each had their own little palm pilot program to keep track of what happened during every inning... Crazy. I had no idea people took this game that seriously. Chris and I officially decided that the game is interesting, (not my favorite, but still fun to see) but the people there are WAY more interesting to watch. It was almost hard to keep track of what was happening in the game between the crazy people to watch and eating my wonderful ice cream. Good thing for the balls that fly up right in the net in front of our faces that give heart attacks and get your attention focused back to the ball game. We ended up leaving a little early since the other team hadn't even scored one point and the Raptors dominated. All and all it was a fun night together. Thank you for the tickets Becky and Jack! They were great seats.

4th of July Post 2009

This year we both had the 4th of July off... It was so fun to not have Chris going to work. My Sister and her family came home from Washington to spend a week with us. I started off the day with going to the North Ogden Parade with my Sister and Ana, Mom, and Dad. While we were at the parade our boys decided to disappear and go mountain biking.

After the parade we came back home and had a family bbq. The whole day we enjoyed playing with family and ate A LOT of food.
Here is my cake I made for the 4th of July... Very festive right? :) It is pretty much just the same as my practice on but this time there was 2 layers. So it had yummy rainbow chip cake with the rainbow chip frosting in between the layers then topped vanilla frosting and then the fondant. YUM!
Here is my sweet little niece. She pretty much is the cutest thing!
That night we had our first family get together at MY house. It was very fun even though we didn't even go inside :) It is probably for the best that we didn't cause pretty much it is a disaster. Atleast we have walls now! We had a great view of the fireworks at Weber High on my front lawn. So we sat on the grass and as you can see in the picture below the boys sat on our roof!
The next sunday after my mom wanted some pictures of us since we were all toghether.
So here we are:
Sean, Amanda and Anahi:The Whole Family:

Pretty much I can't get enough of this little lady when she comes to visit! I just figure she needs as much Aunt Ally time as possible when I get to see her!

Moving Stores

It if official... Chris has moved from the T-Mobile store in Clinton to the store in Riverdale. We are excited because it is a little shorter of a drive and a little step up! He is sad to leave from that store cause he loved the people he worked with and that is where he started with T-Mobile... I just wanted to say that T-mobile has been such a great place for him to work and we are so grateful for our jobs in this tough economy.

- I haven't Updated for atleast a month... So there is like 6 new posts on here now! Pretty much I am a blogging slacker!

366 Cupcakes

These delicious cupcakes were homemade. Chocolate cupcake with cream cheese and chocolate chip filling. I made them for a wedding that was on July 1st. I thought they turned out cute.. Simply, Classy, and very yummy...
This is what I did all day June 30th.
I started at 10 am and made 2 batches of fondant frosting...
12 pm - 8:30 pm was constant cupcake making... They were all made from scratch so there was alot of mixing ingredients, cleaning pans, and baking involved.
11 pm- 3 am start to roll out fondant frosting and cutting out circles, then put circle on each of the cupcakes.
It took all day... But it is crazy to say that I REALLY LOVED it! It was fun so see them all together and watch the boxes fill up... We ended up with 7 of these huge boxes full.
Here I am about half way done with the Cupcakes! Only 3 more boxes to fill...
Thank goodness for my two helpers! My mom and Brother saved me...

Playing with fondant

Here is my first out come with making a cake with fondant frosting. It was so much fun! I ended up making a practice cake for the 4th... Isn't it cute!? It took me a while to knead the fondant enough to make it smooth and then to get the right colors but i think it turned out pretty good. Not to mention that the cake was delicious and I liked the tast of the frosting too. I love baking and cooking anyways so this is just right up my alley! I have been playing around makeing all sorts of cakes. So if anyone wants a cake made let me know... :)
