Playing with fondant

Here is my first out come with making a cake with fondant frosting. It was so much fun! I ended up making a practice cake for the 4th... Isn't it cute!? It took me a while to knead the fondant enough to make it smooth and then to get the right colors but i think it turned out pretty good. Not to mention that the cake was delicious and I liked the tast of the frosting too. I love baking and cooking anyways so this is just right up my alley! I have been playing around makeing all sorts of cakes. So if anyone wants a cake made let me know... :)

Visit from the Swails

Our favorite family from South Carolina came to visit Utah. We were lucky enough to steal them for a night with their busy schedule. Chris met them when he was serving his mission in SC and when we went out there last year to visit they were so sweet and let us stay at their house a couple nights. It was so fun to watch them react to the mountains. I swear I always forget how beautiful of a place we really live. The mountains are AMAZING... They come here and think it is beautiful, but when we were out there I though it was awesome out there:)

We went to show them the Junction in Ogden. We ended up eating at Iggy's( aka C-Jiggy's). They loved that you could see the temple right there. They couldn't believe how many temples were all over. It was even funnier that when we were showing them our house that we passed 3 churches on our road. They thought it was so crazy since they have to drive like 20 minutes to go to church:)
Anyways we tried to show them the flowrider but it was already closed. We could still hear the fans blowing from the IFLY so we decided to go up there to show them... Well as soon as we walked up there they were shutting it down. We asked them if they would do a demo since the Swails wouldn't get to see it again, and they did! They were so nice... It was awesome to watch them flying around in there! These two pictures were taken by Hailey their little girl. She was being carried around by her dad so she got some pretty awesome shots! :)
Hopefully we will see them again soon... Either with them coming to Utah, or even better us going back out to South Carolina!

Real Games

Once again Chris has season tickets for the Real games. Except this year he has 2 tickets so I get to go with him to most of the games. To kick off this season Chris bought me my own jersey and scarf so I can go to the games in style :) Real has been playing pretty good depending on the game. As you can see in the picture up above Chris gets very serious as he watches his team lose.
We went to the game that had David Archulta sing. It was sooooo funny... He has an amazing voice. But mostly it was intersting to watch the young girls drool over him. Poor kid is going to go deaf from having those high pitch screams everywhere he goes!
I have to admit that I am really starting to like going to the games now that I know what is going on... And I think Chris is very impressed that when he talks about the players I know most of their names and what he is talking about.

My First 5k

(Check out the loot we got in our packet for our 5k! Cute bag huh?)
I was at work one day minding my own business when Angela asked me if I would like to run a 5k with her. I simply laughed and made some smart remark about dying if I ever ran that far. Then about 5 minutes later she asked me again. In the heat of the moment I didn't know what to say. So somehow the word YES came out. That same day she had herself me and Malissa all enrolled to run in the Springville 5k. She is such a good friend to get me going again... I started running almost everyday. Not far but enough that I felt really good afterward. I had forgotten how great it feels to run!

So we decided since the 5k was in Springville (which by the way was wonderful cause nobody that I knew was there so they couldn't watch and laugh at me) we went to spend the night there. So after work that day we took off and ate at the Olive Garden because we had to get plenty of carbs before :) We drove and drove and somehow ended up in Pleasant Grove, found out we had taken a slight detour and got back on track. The next morning we woke up way earlier than I am use to and ran in the 5k. I am proud to say I finished.. And not only did I finish but before a lot of other people:) 39 minutes... Not bad for going from not running at all. The ride home was extremely long because we somehow ended up getting caught in traffic from 3 different accidents. Poor Angela was getting car sick and Malissa and I were FORCED to eat cotton candy salt water taffy... It was very fun and pretty sure I will be going next year if it means I will be getting all the fun stuff I got this year.
